Bulk Packer: bridging the gap between manual and fully automated packaging

When manual filling is no longer sufficient

In butter production, the demand for capacity, consistency and ergonomics continues to grow. However, investing in a fully automated line is not always the right step. Budget, available space or production volume can influence that decision.

To address this, Lekkerkerker Dairy & Food Equipment developed a semi-automatic Bulk Packer. A new-build case filling machine that bridges the gap between manual filling and full automation.

Designed for bulk butter packaging

The machine is designed to fill butter into carton boxes ranging from 10 to 25 kg. The internal box dimensions and recipe settings determine filling height and final weight.

With a capacity of up to 100 boxes per hour of 25 kg, the machine provides a stable and predictable production flow. Hygiene plays a central role, with CIP cleaning functionality and a design aligned with current safety standards.

Two filling stations, one operator

The strength of this solution lies in its dual filling station setup. While one station automatically fills a box, the operator can prepare the next box at the second station by placing a plastic liner and positioning the carton.

Once filling is completed, the filled box is automatically discharged and the next cycle starts. This creates an almost continuous filling rhythm with limited waiting time.

This approach ensures:

  • Reduced downtime
  • Efficient use of personnel
  • A consistent production process

Intuitive HMI control

The Bulk Packer features a clear and user-friendly HMI interface. Operators can select recipes and adjust parameters such as filling height and product settings per station.

Both filling stations can be adjusted independently, offering flexibility for product changes or varying weights within the same production run.

Built in Lopik

The Bulk Packer was engineered and assembled in our workshop in Lopik. From design to assembly and testing, the complete process is handled in-house.

The result is a solid and well-considered case filling solution tailored to the daily reality of dairy production.
